I like many types of music I love quiet solitude, but there's definitely a place for music on this earth. Like most people, what i listen to depends on my current mood. When I need to get grounded and pray/meditate, it's celtic (like enya or clannad), nature sounds or tribal flutes. When I need some more gratitude for God's gifts, it's praise and worship...contemporary christian. When I need to get pumped up for the day, it's contemporary country or mild rock. I listen to Christmas music ALL YEAR LONG. hahaha. I grew up in a house full of music...my brother was and still is a phenominal classical guitarist. Mom played piano and sang with such a powerful voice. Dad was/is tone deaf, poor guy. But mom insisted we let him belt out all those songs in church on Sundays anyway. She said we had to let him has his fun. We all still laugh about that! hahaha. I studied music history and theory in high school and college, which increased my appreciation of all kinds of musical expression, even the types i don't particularly care for (like hard rock, rap, blues, blue grass). My old stand-by's are older soft rock (like james taylor, carly simon, joni mitchell). Blessings to all.
