I grew up playing drums and exploring different types of music from around the world. The drum teachers shaped that sense of exploration. I was not the only kid listening to jazz, metal, and much more. My friends were musicians too. There is something about artists and musicians. We are weird- typically sensitive and insightful types operating on a different wavelength.
Today I happen to be listening to jazz and classical. I can go from lute and harpsichord in the morning to a world jazz playlist. Sometimes it's nice to just put on some Beatles or alternative 80s. Whatever hits you this summer, enjoy the memory and the music.
