Variety doesn't mean cacophony Music is a powerful force. It can stimulate creativity, invoke emotions, serve as a catharsis, and all sorts of other things. That's why many couples have "our song". I've no talent for creating music. But I definitely enjoy it. My musical tastes are broad and not age-appropriate. My iPod is a tossed salad of medieval music, alternative music, hip hop, electronica, pop, rock, rockabilly, country, techno, world music, etc. It probably represents several hundred years of musical history.
