Retro I listen to a lot of different music (just check out my last.fm profile!), but mostly it's only popular genres from years past. I never could get into art rock, or other things like that. Every song longer than 3 minutes make me suspicious. Only Dire Straits could consistently pen long good songs.

Anyway, here's some of my favourite genres and bands:

Classic country: Red Foley, Tennessee Ernie Ford, Ernest Tubb, Text Williams, Tex Morton, Joe Maphis, Merle Travis.

Blues: Sonny Terry & Brownie McGhee, Albert King

Jazz: Louis Armstrong, Ella, some Glen Miller

Rock'n'roll: Bill Haley, Buddy Holly, Gene Vincent, Little Richard, Elvis Presley.

Rock: Beatles, Herman Hermits, -----, Dire Straits, Creedance Clearwater Revival, Bachman-Turner Overdrive

Glam rock: Slade, Sweet, T-Rex, Mud, Wizzard

Pop: Middle of the Road

Folk: Irish Rovers, Dubliners, Altan, Blackmore's Night

Disco: Dschinghiz Khan, Boney M, ABBA

Neo-rockabilly: Stray Cats, Teencats, Black Knights

Neo-swing: Brian Setzer's Orchestra, Indigo Swing, Squirrel Nut Zippers

Modern country: Dixie Chicks, Hot Club of Cowtown

OK, enough is enough. That's what I love. Things I can't stand: heavy metal, rap, hip-hop, modern pop and most of bland modern rock.

And one thing I hate with burning passion: Russian pop music. If you haven't heard it, you don't know what bad music means. If you have heard something like t.a.t.u and LIKED it - please don't contact me, we live in different worlds.
